Immersive Travel
Immersive travel is a singular unique travel experience, based on relationships, like having a local resident arrange for lodging with a local hotel owner, and eating meals in the homes of locals.
Immersive travel is both intentional and intuitive. Get lost on purpose. Go to Prambanan at night. Talk to people. Hire a Grab driver that you like for one trip for the entire day. The Immersive Traveler does not seek out chain hotels or premier accommodations. Sometimes staying in a “sketchy” neighborhood puts the traveler in touch with how the locals live, and walk their kids down the block to elementary school. The Immersive Traveler chooses public transportation over ride share services. Not only is it less expensive, the interaction with locals is more direct and frequent
There are large chain coffee shops like JCO or Starbucks, but the truly immersive traveler will gravitate to the independent coffee shops that roast and grind on-site.
